3. Legal Basis for Processing

Art. 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — Contract performance (service delivery). Art. 6(1)(a) — Consent (marketing communications). Art. 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interest (website security, analytics, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering). Art. 6(1)(c) — Legal obligation (HMRC tax records — 6 years; Companies Act 2006; Money Laundering Regulations 2017).

4. Data Categories

Contact: Name, email, phone, company, job title. Project: Website URLs, analytics access, ad account access (under NDA). Payment: Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1). No card data stored. Analytics: Plausible (EU-hosted, no cookies, no PII). AML: Where required: company registration details, director identification (see AML Policy).

5. International Transfers

Stripe, Inc. (USA) — UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) + supplementary measures. Plausible (Estonia, EU) — adequacy decision. Google (USA) — only when client provides Analytics/Ads access. Data never sold.

6. Retention

Enquiries: 2 years. Client data: duration of engagement + 6 years (HMRC). AML records: 5 years post-relationship (MLR 2017, Reg. 40). Marketing: until consent withdrawn.
